BEC WILLIS A WINNER!

What a brilliant November for singer/songwriter Bec Willis.

On Nov 1^st Bec gave birth to her first born son, Corrigan Gregory. Could life get any better?

Well Bec’s other major production, the album “Bec Willis” struck gold in Melbourne at Monday night’s Jagermeister AIR awards.

The album “Bec Willis” is the Best Independent Country album of 2008!

With stiff competition from fellow nominees The Noll Brothers, Davidson Brothers, The Flood and Felicity Urqhuart, Bec was lucky enough to take out the award.

Bec comments,

“Im so happy and proud to have won the award for the album. Kasey, Bill, Jeff McCormack and I worked for a good three years on the album with some great muso’s so its been a labour of love and we are just delighted and honoured that it has been recognised by the AIR award and to be nominated in such good company with the other nominees for this category.”

The album Bec Willis was released Sept 2007 via Shock Records, engineered and mastered by Jeff McCormack and produced by Kasey & Bill Chambers,

Kasey comments,

“It was so refreshing to hear someone who wasn’t trying to prove anything. Bec is just a great singer/songwriter who does her own thing and does it so well. Her songs are original and heartfelt and she has a voice I could listen to all day. I feel lucky to have been involved in the making of her debut album.”

New song at radio “Shiver & Shake”

The follow up to “Toohey Road” and the third radio release song from the now award winning album Bec Willis is dropped to radio December 18.

Bec will be heading to the Tamworth festival in the new year:

Bec wins 2008 AIR Award !

Monday 24th November brought the annual AIR Australian Independent Record Assocation Awards for which Bec took out Independent Country Album of the Year for her self titled album ‘Bec Willis’. Bec could not attend as she has very recently given birth to first son ‘Corrigan’ however the Award was accepted on her behalf by manager Paul Minshull. Other nominees were The Flood, Felicity Urquhart, Noll Brothers and Davidson Brothers. ’Bec Willis’ was released through Shock Records in October 2007. The Awards will be televised on Channel V on December 17th.

The Australian Independent Record Labels Association has presented Bec with a nomination for an AIR award. The 2008 Jagermeister Air Awards take place 24th November at the Corner Hotel, Melbourne. Bec joins cream of the crop artists The Flood, Felicity Urquhart, The Davidson Brothers and the Noll Brothers as nominees for the Country category. Bec is nominated for her self titled debut album ‘Bec Willis’ released through Shock Records October 2008.

Bec and Andy are bursting with pride to announce the birth of Corrigan Gregory Parker on November 1 weighing in at 9 pounds 4 ! Bec’s gig is still on at Lizottes at Kincumber this Sunday 9th November 12.30pm to eat and 2pm for show only $12.50. Bec is blessed with some really beautiful friends who are dropping in to sing a song and help the new Mum out in her first post baby gig!
